Very useful in acute exacerbation of asthma. If taken with honey at the time of an impending asthmatic attack it aborts the attack. In patients with the history of chronic asthma it reduces the frequency of attacks and their severity too. It is also useful in cough, anorexia and other phlegmatic diseases. It can be considered as an adjuvant in the treatment of first stage of Rajayakshma (Tuberculosis).
